Dr. Kenia Puig i Planella, Education Officer

Kenia joined PPLI in 2012 as an Education Officer. She develops and delivers CPD for MFL teachers in both initial and continuing teacher education. She also works on the development and implementation of Junior and Senior Cycle courses in heritage languages.  Kenia provides expertise in languages pedagogy to the relevant agencies.  Her areas of expertise include curriculum development, the CEFR, plurilingual and pluricultural education and digital technologies in the MFL classroom.

The Chair for this session will be Narrell Byrne. Narrell Byrne is a German and Irish teacher.

She is the EAL Coordinator at Mount Sion CBS Secondary school in Waterford, 1st School of Sanctuary in the Republic of Ireland.She is working on Intercultural Guidelines for Post Primary Schools with PPLI to be issued soon. The Panelist for this event is Mary Kenny. Mary started in DDLETB as ESOL Development Officer in 2009 and works across the organisation. She has been an English language teacher for over 30 years and offers teacher training courses in ELT and CLIL to post-primary teachers. Mary supports DDLETB's 31 post-primary schools to track and monitor student's progress to ensure they get the language support they need. Mary coordinates an EAL network and is Cambridge English Centre Exams Manager since 2011.
